On npm install: Unhandled rejection Error: EACCES: permission denied

I run my npm install, and whenever I try to install packages using npm install, I receive error messages with these lines.

Unhandled rejection Error: EACCES: permission denied, mkdir ‘/Users/siva/.npm/_cacache/index-v5/bb/79

You need to restore ownership of the user’s npm related folders for the current users. Use the below code to change the ownership.

sudo chown -R $USER:$GROUP ~/.npm
sudo chown -R $USER:$GROUP ~/.config
